Marking International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026, UNMIK & UN Women Kosovo convened women’s rights civil society organizations from across Kosovo for a roundtable discussion with SRSG Peter Due.
Under the theme ‘Access to Justice as the Foundation of Peace and Inclusion in Kosovo,’ participants reflected on the challenges women face in seeking justice and realizing their rights, while underscoring their leadership experiences in promoting equality and trust-building within communities, and strengthening trust in institutions.
This dialogue, aligned with the global IWD theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls,” highlights the essential role of women’s voices and leadership in shaping inclusive and sustainable peace, and reinforces UNMIK’s ongoing commitment to strengthening access to justice, promoting rights, and advancing peace through inclusion.
