The new version of UNMIK's website is now online: http://www.unmikonline.org
The revamp of the website serves two key purposes. First, to improve user experience, the site has been re-organised to better address visitor expectations and preferences. The new structure is more intuitive and will allow users to find information more quickly. Second, the site provides the Mission with a more visible and interactive platform featuring embedded social media elements.
The launch of the new website is the first step in a project to improve our web presence. In the coming months, UNMIK will make more than 10 years' worth of press releases and media monitoring reports available to visitors through comprehensive UNMIK Archives. Moreover, UNMIK will expand its social media presence beyond its already existing Facebook page. The Mission plans to engage more actively with website visitors and, among other things, will explore the use of blogs and Twitter channels.
Feedback or suggestions regarding the UNMIK website are always welcome through the dedicated electronic form provided on the site.
The new design was implemented by UNMIK Public Information and CITS and went live on 26 May 2011.
