Mr. Hans Haekkerup, former Minister of Defence of Denmark, arrived in Kosovo today to take up his duties as the new Special Representative of the Secretary General.
Heavy snow prevented the planned meeting with outgoing SRSG Bernard Kouchner at the airport.
Mr. Haekkerup will spend his initial time in office meeting with representatives of Kosovo’s communities and political parties as well as with representatives of the international community, including high-level visitors.
On Monday at 8:45 a.m., there will be a photo opportunity with Mr. Haekkerup at the entrance to the UNMIK Government Building.
On Tuesday he will chair his first meeting of the Interim Administrative Council.
