The SRSG Søren Jessen-Petersen welcomes the fact that consultations among Kosovo’s political parties have resulted in an agreement on the formation of a coalition.
“Immediately after the elections, I urged the political parties to act on the voices of the voters by moving quickly, and they have done so, without international involvement,” the SRSG said.
The SRSG is looking forward to seeing the modalities of the coalition agreement, as these are worked out in the coming days.
Mr. Jessen-Petersen counts on all parties to continue to engage constructively and play an active role in the democratic process, in the best interests of progress and stability in Kosovo.
The SRSG trusts that the new custodians of the provisional institutions will honour their commitment to work closely with the representatives of minority communities, and towards our common goal of building a stable multiethnic society.
