UNMIK/PR/1154

PRISTINA – Today at around 5 pm the body of a male child was found washed up on the side of a riverbank in the Lipjan area of Pristina.

The police link the body with that of a Kosovo Albanian child reported missing since 27 February 2004. The body has been found about one kilometer downstream from Slovinja village of Lipjan where the missing child was last seen playing near the river on 27 February 2004.

The condition of the body indicates that it has been in the water for several days and has emerged as the water level in the river has fallen.

No foul play is suspected. The Pristina Regional Serious Crimes Squad is investigating the case.
