PRISTINA - On behalf of the SRSG, the Deputy SRSG for Pillar I Jean-Christian Cady today attended the funeral of KPS Officer Arsim Rrustolli who was shot while on duty on 23 March 2004.
Conveying the condolences from UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and SRSG Harri Holkeri to the family and friends of Officer Rrustolli, DSRSG Cady said:
“International policemen and Kosovo Police Service Officers are part of the same family. We share the same ideals, which are to bring peace to Kosovo and to ensure that law is respected and criminals arrested.”
“As I am in charge of Police and Justice in Kosovo, let me assure you, that no form of violence will be tolerated. All of us are working for a better and a safer Kosovo. We are working to uproot criminal gangs, which have done and continue to do so much damage to Kosovo.”
