PRISTINA – SRSG Harri Holkeri today visited the KPC Training Academy in Pristina.
The KPC Commander Gen. Agim Çeku and the IOM project manager of KPC, Don Guthmiller, received the SRSG and showed him around the centre.
The SRSG saw the technical facilities, such as the centre for emergency situation simulation as well as class rooms and the library of the institution.
At the end of the visit, SRSG Holkeri spoke to the KPC officers, stressing the importance of training at all levels, especially training the leaders. He welcomed the KPC’s projects in minority areas and said “I congratulate you for that.”
The SRSG pointed out that the KPC – being one of the standards – will have to maintain pace with the other Kosovan institutions on standards implementation. He said funding for the KPC was a problem and hoped that it would be resolved soon.
