PRISTINA –SRSG Harri Holkeri today met Bishop Artemije in Gracanica and held frank and friendly discussions, including on some practical problems faced by Kosovo Serbs that the latter raised.
The SRSG urged Bishop Artemije to influence Kosovo Serbs to participate in the Standards Implementation process. “Boycotting the process is counterproductive and fulfilling the standards will benefit everyone in Kosovo”, he said.
He also said that he was totally against any moves towards mono-ethnicity, adding that participation in the process was the only way to protect Kosovo Serbs' interests.
Bishop Artemije raised the issue of customs duty on humanitarian goods and the Serbian Orthodox church in Pristina. The SRSG offered to clarify these matters.
