PRISTINA – SRSG Harri Holkeri issued the following statement today:
“I welcome the first meeting of the Working Group on Energy which was held today as part of the Pristina-Belgrade direct dialogue.
“The process, as we all know, began with the plenary meeting held in Vienna last October. Today’s meeting on energy, chaired by Joly Dixon, marks the continuation of that process and opens a new chapter in the establishment of regular contacts on practical issues of mutual interest between Pristina and Belgrade.
“I applaud political leaders from both Kosovo and Serbia for their commitment to this process, which will benefit people on both sides. I hope that the working groups will engage in constructive and serious dialogue, which is one of the standards to be fulfilled. UNMIK and the international community will continue to give its wholehearted support for the dialogue.”
