PRISTINA--KEK, the Kosovo power company, has begun to issue bills for electricity supplied during the month of October for domestic customers, and September/October for industrial/commercial customers.
Bills will be calculated according to consumption of energy. For those premises without an electricity meter, or where access cannot be gained to read the meter, a flat rate tariff will be applied.
When you receive your bill you will have 15 days to pay it or interest will be charged. You can pay in DM or dinars. If you do not pay your bill, your electricity supply may be disconnected.
UNMIK will take a very serious view both of non-payment of electricity charges and any instances of illegal diversion of electricity, by interfering with the meter apparatus or making unauthorized connections to the electricity supply.
KEK wishes to thank their customers for their patience while restoration of the electricity system takes place. The electrical system is in a very poor state, and to make it fully operational will take considerable time. Every effort is being made to ensure that interruptions to supply are as infrequent as possible and are fairly distributed, and that places with no supply are reconnected as soon as possible.
Please remember that you will have to pay for all the electricity that you consume. It is your interest to make sure that you do not leave any heaters, lights or other appliances switched on when you are not using them. Whenever possible, use alternative forms of heating. This will help KEK to keep your supply on for as long as possible during disconnection periods.
