PRISTINA – In the context of the “Public Notice” advertisement taken out by Telekom Srbija a.d. in an eminent international financial newspaper on 26 August 2010, UNMIK sees the need to publicly clarify the following:
The “Post and Telecommunications Enterprise in the territory of Kosovo” (PTK) was established by UNMIK and given the authority under UNMIK Regulation 1999/12 of 14 October 1999, to provide postal and telecommunication services in the territory of Kosovo. The establishment of PTK as the postal and telecommunications service provider in Kosovo was done in accordance with UNMIK’s mandate under United Nations Security Council resolution 1244 (1999), and PTK was authorised to use all available public telecommunications equipment and installations in Kosovo.
