PRISTINA— Public health officers have called for Pristina’s public swimming pool to close. The reason is that levels of bacteria levels at Germia are higher than they should be for a pool.
No date has been set for the pool to re-open. Health officers say they just have to wait for the bacteria levels to drop.
To help speed up that process sodium chloride and chlorine are being added to the water of the 28 million-litre pool.
An announcement will be made when people can return to the waters of one of Europe’s largest pools.
The Germia pool has been packed with youngsters since it re-opened last month after a year and 350,000 DM worth of repair work.
