PRISTINA – On 25 June 2004, a panel composed of three international judges of the District Court of Gnjilane, pronounced the following verdict in the criminal case against Shefqet Musliu and four other accused:
The accused SHEFQET MUSLIU was found guilty of the offences of kidnapping of four persons and attempted extortion and was acquitted of the charges of unauthorized possession of weapons and criminal association. He will serve an aggregate sentence of twelve (12) years.
The accused BESIM TAHIRI was found guilty of the offence(s) of kidnapping of three persons and will serve an aggregate sentence of seven (7) years. He was acquitted of the charge of unauthorized possession of weapons and criminal association.
The accused FERIZ QERIMI was found guilty of the offence of kidnapping of one person and was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of five (5) years. He was acquitted of the charge of unauthorized possession of weapons and criminal association.
The accused JETON ARIFI was acquitted of the charge of criminal association and two counts of kidnapping.
The accused XHEVDET MUSLIU was acquitted of coercion.
