PRISTINA---The Interim Administrative Council (IAC) today concluded its discussion on the draft regulation establishing the rules of procedure and evidence of the Housing and Property Claims Commission. Mr. Alan Dodson, chairman of the Commission, and experts from the appropriate departments have been working on the draft regulation. The regulation will adjudicate claims of people who lost occupancy rights to social apartments or were forced into informal transactions as well as claims of people who lost their property as a result of the conflict.
The IAC also named Mr. Sabri Kicmari (PDK) as Kosovo co-head for Local Administration after the resignation of Mr. Rame Buja.
The IAC members were informed that given the importance of the construction regulation, which they had discussed in last week’s meeting, SRSG Bernard Kouchner decided to sign it into law prior to his departure to New York yesterday. The regulation will support the municipalities in the fight against illegal construction, and it has been named after the late Rexhep Luci, the well known architect, who was killed on 11 September in Pristina.
