Pristina--The Interim Administrative Council (IAC) met today for the first time at the premises of the Central Fiscal Authority. The meeting was held there at the invitation of the two co-heads, Mr. Ali Sadriu and Mr. Alan Pearson. The IAC intends to continue to meet at the different Administrative Departments in order to get first hand information of the day-to-day work of the Joint Administration. Most of the discussions at today’s IAC meeting centered on issues relating to the Kosovo Consolidated Budget.
In particular, the members of the IAC discussed the regulation re-arranging the Kosovo Budget to accommodate the Joint Administrative Structure. The IAC also exchanged views on the regulation on Tax Administration. The new regulation will determine tax and the modalities of tax collection.
The members of the IAC also continued discussion on the composition of the Central Election Commission and began talks on the establishment of an Ombudsperson who would be appointed to follow-up complaints of ordinary citizen on abuse of authority including human rights violations.
