UNMIK/PR/303
Pristina – SRSG Bernard Kouchner has expressed his grave concern over the arrest Tuesday night by the Yugoslav Army in Montenegro of two British members of the UNMIK/ OSCE Mission in Kosovo and two Canadian citizens travelling with them.
Dr Kouchner calls upon Yugoslav authorities to honour their obligations under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and grant immediate access to the detained by representatives of Canada and the United Kingdom.
Kosovo's chief administrator also demanded that Yugoslav authorities release the four who appear to have been detained on dubious grounds.
The two arrested Britons, Adrian Pragnell and John Yore, are members of the team of international police instructors working for the UNMIK/OSCE Kosovo Police School in Pristina. The two Canadians, Shaun Going and Liam Hall, work for a private company engaged in construction in Kosovo.
The four who were off duty and on holiday when they were arrested.
