PRISTINA – Today the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Søren Jessen- Petersen issued the following statement on the occasion of Orthodox Easter:
“I send greetings to you and your families as you observe Orthodox Easter and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter reminds us of humanity’s ability to embrace forgiveness and renew itself. As Kosovo moves forward towards a better future in Europe for all its citizens, I appeal to everyone to work together and to redouble our efforts to ensure such a future.
At this crucial time for Kosovo I hope that your Easter prayers will be listened to and that we can make two of our greatest aims a reality: reconciliation and tolerance.
I wish everybody a peaceful celebration of this holiday. May it re-energize our determination to transform Kosovo into a place where all people, regardless of ethnicity, can live in security and dignity.”
