New Rank Structure for Kosovo Protection Force (KPC)

UNMIK/PR/688

UNMIK and KFOR approved a proposal, presented by the commander of the KPC, Lt General Agim Ceku, that will allow for the implementation of a formal rank structure within the KPC. This initiative will greatly assist the process of restructuring of the KPC to most effectively use both Active and Reserve elements in the future and will ensure a coherent and effective chain of command for the Kosovo’s Civil Emergency Force.

The KPC will adopt recognized ranks, in much the same way as many other civil emergency forces and police forces across the world, including the Kosovo Police Service. Whilst the formal structure is yet to be formally defined, the allocation of appropriate ranks to individuals will be based on their level of responsibility and the technical competencies they hold.
