Pristina – UNMIK and the Kosovo Power Company (KEK) wishes to thank
During the past few weeks, the KEK began delivering electricity bills for the months of September and October to commercial premises and for October to residences. Customer billing was delayed until some improvement in the electricity supply was achieved.
Customers can pay their bills, in either Deutsche marks or dinars, at their local KEK office during regular business hours. Bills must be paid within 15 days of receipt or customers will be charged interest. Any interest incurred will be added to the November bill, which will be delivered in January.
Failure to pay the second bill within 15 days of receipt will result in the supply being disconnected. Electricity will not be restored until outstanding bills are paid in full.
KEK will not penalize customers who are suffering from genuine financial hardship. Households that have no source of income will not be disconnected. NGOs will be asked to verify such cases.
