PRISTINA – Principal Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Kosovo (PDSRSG) Steve Schook today paid a courtesy visit to the Women’s Forum of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) during their Convention held in Pristina. The Convention was chaired by the Minister of Public Services Melihate Termkolli.
The PDSRSG was impressed by the mature structure and the articulated political discourse of the LDK Women’s Forum. On the margins of the Convention the PDSRSG met representatives of similar forums from other political parties and expressed satisfaction at their contribution to Kosovo democratic life.
The PDSRSG would like to encourage political leaders to fully integrate women at all levels of decision making within political parties and local institutions. Their proactive engagement is a necessary pre-requisite for successful implementation of the principles and provisions of the Law on Gender Equality.
