Police arrest suspect perpetrator of the attack on Judge Ceta, President of the District Court in Prizren
Police have arrested a man suspected of having committed the assault against judge Engjell Ceta, President of the District Court in Prizren who was injured with a metal rod on the head on 5 February 2003. The International Investigating Judge ordered this suspect to be detained in pre-trial detention.
“This assault constitutes an egregious attack on Kosovo’s judicial system,” said Paul Coffey, the new head of the Department of Justice. “Consequently, I have assigned the highest priority to prosecuting the perpetrator (s) to the full extent of the law. Any assault, I repeat, any assault on judges, prosecutors or police will not be tolerated to any degree”.
