PRISTINA---The JIAS Department of Sports and the Athletic Federation of Kosovo are organizing the Pristina International Marathon on 8 April 2001 with the aim of promoting the values of peace, co-existence and excellence in sports. Expected to be a highly competitive event with attractive prize money, the organisers are seeking mass participation.
The first ever international marathon to be held in Pristina will have a prize money of 25,000 deutsche mark to be divided among the various winners. The 21 kilometer marathon will cover the route from Boro e Ramiz Sports Centre, Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje and back to Boro e Ramiz.
The event will be divided into three categories: men, women and veterans (Above 40 years). The break up of the prize money is as follows:

The registration for the marathon will be between 2nd and 7th April at the Office of Department of Sports in Boro e Ramiz Sports Centre, Pristina, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a fee of 5 deutsche mark.
