PRISTINA: The SRSG, Dr. Bernard Kouchner, today briefed the Interim Administrative Council on the preparations for the Security Council visit later this week, part of which will be a special joint IAC and Kosovo Transitional Council session on 28 April, in which the Security Council members will also participate.
The IAC was also informed about the Central Election Commission regulation, which was signed by the SRSG on 21 April. The IAC also decided to take up at its next meeting on 2 May the issue of the appointment of the Kosovar and international co-heads of the Department of Education and the resignation of the Kosovar co-head of the department, Mr. Agim Vinca. The term of the international co-head, Ms Steffie Schnoor, ends at the end of this month.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting on the issue of the appointment of the President of the Municipal Board of Pristina, Dr. Kouchner said that he would personally look into the issue, adding “Pristina is the main city and the symbol of Kosovo. Therefore, this kind of decision cannot be made hastily. I have decided to look into it personally, to see if the process was correct. I will let you know very soon”.
