SRSG Hans Haekkerup condemned the violence in Mitrovica yesterday which claimed the life of one Kosovo Albanian, left a Kosovo Serb gravely injured and targeted the staff of international organizations.
“The people of Mitrovica must themselves stop the cycle of violence,” Mr. Haekkerup said. “We will make every effort to provide security and opportunities for all Mitrovica communities. But the people and their leaders must join in that effort if we are ever to achieve a united and peaceful Mitrovica.”
