The SRSG briefed President Mesic on the latest political developments in Kosovo and they discussed the Troika-led status negotiation process.

The SRSG expressed his continued hope that a positive outcome of the Troika-led status negotiation process was attainable, while also stressing that the international community should prepare for other outcomes in the context of prudent planning.

Mr. Rücker also briefed the President on preparations for the elections on 17 November. Both the SRSG and President Mesic agreed that it is important for Kosovo Serbs to participate in Kosovo institutions and to fully participate in the elections.
