PRISTINA – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Kosovo (SRSG) Joachim Rücker met in Podgorica today with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Zeljko Sturanovic.

They discussed the current situation in Kosovo, relations between Montenegro and Kosovo, ways to further enhance the good cooperation between Podgorica and Pristina in many fields, and the Troika-led status negotiation process.

“The Team of Unity is negotiating in good faith and I believe that no stone will be left unturned in efforts to reach an agreement,” said Mr. Rücker.

While expressing his hope for a positive outcome of the Troika-led status negotiation process, the SRSG also stressed the need to prepare for other outcomes.

Mr. Rücker also briefed the Prime Minister on preparations for the elections on 17 November. Both the SRSG and the Prime Minister agreed that it is important for Kosovo Serbs to fully participate in these elections.
