PRISTINA – SRSG Søren Jessen-Petersen has taken note of the resolution passed today by the Assembly of Kosovo providing a mandate to the Delegation of Kosovo as the basis for its platform for the upcoming status talks. As such, “the Assembly has appropriately assumed its responsibility”, said the SRSG.
The SRSG furthermore said, "It is now time for Kosovo's political leaders to accelerate preparations for the status process, in particular in view of the arrival of Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari on Monday. I count on the leaders to respect their commitments to make this process as inclusive as possible."
