The following press release was issued in Prizren:
Mr Rudolph Hoffmann, Regional Administrator ad interim, states that the 51 countries he referred to in the 13 September Press Conference are those countries which have received the UNMIK Travel Document for consideration and approval. Several countries have confirmed and others are in the process of replying.
The Travel Document Office is expected to open soon. As regards the issuance of travel documents, Mr Hoffmann stated that it takes 6 to 8 weeks from the date an application is received to deliver the document. He was wrongly quoted in some newspapers, which published the date of early October for the issuance of the first travel document.
