PRISTINA - UNMIK will establish a waiting area for freight trucks from Kosovo on their way to the Blace border crossing with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. By keeping a large number of trucks off the main road, traffic as well as safety in the area of the Blace border crossing will improve considerably.
UNMIK has entered into an agreement with the SICAPOR Factory in Kacanik, Kosovo, which will provide the parking space for these trucks.
The parking fee at the factory will not exceed 50 DM for one freight truck per 24 hours. This fee will cover all services, including costs for personnel, running and cleaning the parking area, control at the entrance and exit points as well as for the provision of sanitary facilities.
KFOR will escort truck convoys from the parking area to the Blace border crossing.
The parking facility at the SICAPOR Factory in Kacanik will open on 13 March 2000.
