The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, hosted today the new Commander of KFOR, MG Salvatore Cuoci, for a meeting at UNMIK Headquarters.

In welcoming BG Cuoci to Kosovo, SRSG Tanin emphasized the importance of continued close cooperation between UNMIK and KFOR, as the two missions are working towards the shared goals of peace, stability and security in Kosovo. BG Cuoci echoed the sentiment, saying cooperation is essential and expressing interest in regular consultations.

BG Cuoci and SRSG Tanin also discussed the current political and security situation in Kosovo and the outlook for the coming year.
