Within the framework of the Mission’s Trust-Building Programme, the Office of Community Support (OCS) has facilitated several conferences organized by municipal leaders over the past two years, involving community leaders, as well as representatives of civil society organizations from youth and women’s associations. Some of these events complemented months of preparatory work for the 2018 United Nations Kosovo Trust-Building Forum, organized by the Mission from May 6 to 8, 2018 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, while others were designed to follow up on the recommendations that were an outcome of the forum.

While promoting trust-building initiatives at the local level, the conferences and forums held have offered local actors opportunities to address key challenges, including returns, inter-municipal cooperation, economic development and environmental issues faced at the municipal level.

OCS adopts an inclusive approach to cement multi-stakeholder partnerships that will enable better tackling of multifaceted challenges related to trust-building.
