Youth Assembly

1st United Nations Kosovo Youth Assembly is an open platform for cooperation between young people from all communities across Kosovo, UN institutions and other international organizations, as well as the local decision-makers from all levels, civil society and businesses.

UN Kosovo Youth Assembly follows an example of the world-famous annual UN Youth Assembly in New York, and was organized for the first time in Kosovo on 28-29 June 2017.  The 2nd UN Youth Assembly in Kosovo will be organized in spring 2018.

“Stories from the Other Side: Kosovo-wide” project are regular intercommunity trust-building meetings between young people from Kosovo and UNMIK staff. The participants have an opportunity to learn about the work of the UN Mission in Kosovo, exchange their concerns with peers from different communities and develop their advocacy skills by shaping joint solutions. The first edition of the Stories from the Other Side was launched in December 2016 at UNMIK headquarters, with the second meeting happening in North Mitrovica in May 2017.
