Reports presented on journalists’ safety and harmful discourse in Kosovo’s media environment

Media freedom, journalists’ safety and responsible public discourse were at the core of today’s event organized by the Asociacioni i Gazetarëve të Kosovës - AGK, where two reports highlighted concerning trends across Kosovo’s media and information environment.

The report on journalists’ safety recorded nine attacks against journalists and media workers between January and May 2026—equal to the total recorded during the whole of 2025. It also highlights growing online threats, cyberattacks and coordinated denigration campaigns, with women journalists facing sexist harassment and gender-based digital violence.
