The Office of Community Support manages UNMIK’s Confidence-Building Projects (CBPs) programme, which actively backs and promotes confidence building and reconciliation between different communities living in Kosovo. CBPs are small-scale projects, developed and implemented in a participatory manner by, and to the benefit of, the people of Kosovo. They create opportunities and provide support for communities which interact and work together, and thereby gradually establish and enhance mutual confidence.
Projects target inter-community, inter-ethnic and inter-municipal cooperation and reconciliation covering a variety of issues, such as the provision of basic services at the community level and the resolution of local-level economic, social, cultural or environmental issues. The common thread of all projects is an element of inter-community cooperation.
