The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Mr. Zahir Tanin, welcomed the Ambassador of the United States to Kosovo, Mr. Philip S. Kosnett, at UNMIK Headquarters on 1 February 2019.

The Security and Gender Group strongly calls for the Kosovo Assembly to amend the draft budget for 2019, towards ensuring allocation of sustainable funding through the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare to enable shelters to meet the needs of gender-based violence survivors.

The Secretary-General has taken note with concern of the adoption by the Assembly of Kosovo of three draft laws aimed at strengthening the role and capacity of the Kosovo Security Force.
