Kosovo's cultural heritage brings its people together

Kosovo’s cultural heritage brings its people together

24 November 2014 - By organizing visits to historical sites throughout Kosovo, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has helped more than 1400 young people of all ethnicities to learn about their shared cultural heritage. In November 2014, the OSCE took 30 Albanian children from Decan/Decani to visit the Visoki Decani Monastery, a Serbian religious site. Even though the children lived minutes away from the Monastery, most of them had never been there. The overall initiative aims to protect and promote the cultural heritage of non-Albanian communities while helping young people from diverse groups to understand the importance of Kosovo’s many traditions. The goal is intercultural dialogue and ultimately reconciliation.
