First Pristina University students graduate from the UNMIK and OHCHR-supported Master’s Programme in Human Rights
The first students to participate in the University of Pristina’s Master’s Studies Programme in Human Rights, Transitional Justice, Criminal Justice, and the Center for Clinical Studies have completed the programme.
A ceremony yesterday saw 41 students awarded diplomas in the master’s programme, representing the culmination of efforts of students, lecturers, judges and lawyers, with support from UNMIK and OHCHR.
UNMIK’s Human Rights Component Chief and Representative of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Jerome Bouyjou congratulated the students on their achievements and reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Pristina University in strengthening programmes that promote human rights.
“It is so rewarding to see the commitment of our graduating students who are advancing human rights education and equipping themselves with the knowledge necessary to become strong human rights advocates. We are sure the skills learned by these students will have a benefit for the whole of society and especially in ensuring support for all those in vulnerable situations.”
