The possible areas of cooperation in expanding human rights studies in Kosovo were discussed during a constructive meeting between Head of UNMIK SRSG Ziadeh and University of Pristina Rector Professor Qerim Qerimi.

The pair discussed the potential implementation of a Masters study programme on Human Rights, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice, and the development of the Law Faculty's transitional justice corner and Human Rights Clinic when they met yesterday. The potential for regional student exchanges were also touched upon. SRSG Ziadeh congratulated the rector on progress made and expressed UNMIK’s commitment to supporting the university further human rights education opportunities.

"We welcome all such initiatives, especially to ensure Kosovo’s next generations have all the opportunities to take their place as experts and leaders in this society,” SRSG Ziadeh said.
