A new phase of engagement by the European Union in the Western Balkans was heralded by the head of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, during his address to Security Council members today.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, met with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, on 2 February 2018. The meeting took place in advance of the Security Council session on Kosovo scheduled for 7 February.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin, was shocked by the murder of Oliver Ivanović – leader of the civic initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice – near his office in North Mitrovica this morning, and strongly condemns the act.
