SRSG Ziadeh visits Deçan/Dečane municipality, meets with Mayor Ramosaj and Abbot Sava Janjić
In the framework of her outreach to municipalities in Kosovo, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of UNMIK, Ms. Caroline Ziadeh, visited Deçan/Dečane on 21 July, where she met with the Mayor Mr. Bashkim Ramosaj. They discussed inter-community confidence-building initiatives in the municipality including the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Monastery.

SRSG Ziadeh also visited the Visoki Dečani Monastery, where she met Abbot Sava Janjić. They talked about the Monastery in the context of cultural and religious values, with a special emphasis on the preservation of the site.
During her visit, SRSG Ziadeh stressed UNMIK’s continued support to local authorities and communities, particularly in exploring initiatives that reinforce inter-community dialogue and trust-building measures.
