Opportunities for young people, better social services, and environmental challenges were just some of the topics covered during a meeting between Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh and Parteš/Partesh Municipality Mayor Dragan Petković today.

SRSG Ziadeh was welcomed to the municipal building by Mayor Petković who shared his views on the current opportunities and challenges in the municipality. He also spoke of the municipality's efforts to improve social services for its 5000-6000 residents.

“We need functioning services to help people plan for their future,” he shared.

SRSG Ziadeh commended the Mayor on his “proactive and pragmatic approach” in overcoming obstacles and undertook to look for avenues for further cooperation. She also encouraged the Mayor to continue on the path of building trust between the people and asked him to encourage attendance by some of the municipality’s young residents in the upcoming United Nations Youth Assembly in May.
