ASG JENČA AND SRSG TANIN MET WITH KOSOVO POLITICAL LEADERSHIP
The United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, Mr. Miroslav Jenča, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Kosovo, Mr. Zahir Tanin, held separate meetings with Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli and parliamentary caucus leaders.
They discussed the current political situation as well as the continuing work of UNMIK. ASG Jenča encouraged Kosovo leaders to help create conditions conducive to a productive dialogue and the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. He also underscored the importance of ensuring women’s participation and integrating a gender perspective in political dialogue processes.
ASG Jenča will continue his visit tomorrow in Pristina, Mitrovica and Gracanica.
