Marking World AIDS Day in Kosovo
December 1st is World Aids Day. It is an opportunity for people across the world to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS, to show their support for people living with HIV, and to remember all those who have died. Officially, Kosovo has the lowest HIV prevalence rate in Europe and one of the smallest in the world. But those statistics may be misleading, due to possible inaccurate reporting. It is therefore important for the people of Kosovo not to let their guard down. For its part, the United Nations is working with local authorities and civil society groups on the ground, to ensure that Kosovo can protect itself against the global AIDS epidemic.
