Twenty-five years ago, on 31 October 2000, a momentous shift took place in the way peace processes are undertaken.

21 October, 2025 – The peaceful and inclusive atmosphere of recent local elections was commended by Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Officer-in-Charge of UNMIK Milbert Dongjoon Shin in his briefing to the UN Security Council.

UNMIK welcomes the decision by the Central Election Commission to accredit Serbian-language media outlets and others who were previously denied accreditation to cover the upcoming municipal elections.
