SRSG TANIN HOLDS REGULAR CONSULTATIONS IN BELGRADE
Belgrade – On 8 May 2017, SRSG Zahir Tanin met separately with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, and the Director of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric. The meetings were held ahead of the quarterly United Nations Security Council debate on UNMIK, scheduled for 16 May.
Over the course of the three meetings, SRSG Tanin and the Serbian officials had an open exchange of views on the situation in Kosovo and on UNMIK’s continued role in promoting peace and stability.
SRSG Tanin stressed the importance of the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, and reiterated UNMIK’s readiness to support as needed.
