SRSG Ziadeh is closely following the denial of entry of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije to Kosovo to attend the session of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

While maintaining freedom of movement is a requirement, in line with existing agreements, access to religious sites is an indispensable component of the full realization of human rights, and in particular, the right to practice religion by all communities.

The SRSG reiterates her calls for constructive engagement to resolve outstanding issues through the EU-facilitated Dialogue and to prioritize dialogue over unilateral action.
