Understanding poverty in Kosovo

04 November 2014 - Around 30% of people in Kosovo live below the poverty line, with some 10% living in extreme poverty. To highlight and address the situation, the UN Kosovo Team is working to strengthen dialogue and develop partnerships between communities, decision-makers, development agencies, civil society, academia, the private sector and the media. UN poverty eradication activities have included awareness-raising events and journalism prizes, and according to the UN Development Coordinator in Kosovo, the goal is for the people of Kosovo to have equal access to health, education, employment, and ultimately happiness.
