22 April 2016, Pristina - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG), Mr. Zahir Tanin, started his marathon meetings with Municipal leaders and representatives Kosovo wide. The SRSG, accompanied by his Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG), Mr. Christopher Coleman, and the UNMIK team visited Shtime/Stimlje municipality on Friday and were received by Mayor Naim Ismajli. The SRSG was briefed on municipal political, social and economic life by Mayor Ismajli. After the official visit in the municipal premises, UNMIK’s team visited one of Shtime’s successful private enterprises "Agrocoop", a company that operates with workers from different ethnic backgrounds.
On Thursday 21 April, the SRSG and UNMIK team visited Leposavić/Leposaviq and were received by Mayor Dragan Jablanović. “It is always good to meet in person. That’s how we get first-hand information and feel the situation on the ground”, said SRSG Tanin. Following the meeting with Mr. Jablanović, the SRSG and the UNMIK team met with Mr. Zoran Todić, Chairperson of the Municipal Assembly, in the municipal building. Mr. Todić briefed the SRSG about the situation in Leposavić/Leposaviq and northern Kosovo.
