The taboo around gender-based violence that still exists in Kosovo was recognized by many people during a Kosovo-wide tour of an UNMIK-produced documentary on the relationship between property rights and domestic violence.
March 12, 2019 – The need to increase the presence of women in high level political processes and the need for more women taking an active role in all levels of politics in Kosovo were highlighted in a joint United Nations and European Union event.
5 March, 2019 – Women in Kosovo now have greater legal rights to property ownership, after research and an amendment proposal by a gender rights campaigner.

A milestone in the fight to eliminate gender-based violence in Kosovo has been reached with the inauguration of the first multiethnic shelter for gender-based violence survivors in Novo Brdo/Novobërdë and surrounding areas that will support Serbian speakers.
On 3 February 2019, Kosovo Police requested to interview a member of UNMIK personnel about an alleged minor offence in Pristina.
UNMIK is undertaking enquiries and will take appropriate action in accordance with the United Nations policies and procedures.
7 February, 2019 – Kosovo and Serbian leaders must take a forward-looking approach to surmount obstacles that have thwarted negotiations during a period of antagonism, the Head of UNMIK told the UN Security Council.
