During this week, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Mr Zahir Tanin, held high-level consultations in Brussels with NATO and EU officials. These included senior officials responsible for the operations, political affairs, and crisis management structures of NATO as well as the EU heads of Crisis Response and Common Security and Defence Policy and the Europe and Central Asia directorate of European External Affairs. From both institutions, strong support and appreciation were expressed for the cooperation and partnership of the Mission. Beyond the details of current developments between Pristina and Belgrade, the longer perspectives for regional stability were discussed.
